Serie A has witnessed the quality of Armand Lauriente in the recent past and he has been impressing in the Serie B this season.
The Frenchman has 12 goals and five assists for the Neroverdi in the Serie B and he is helping Sassuolo return to the Italian top-flight, having also impressed a lot in the Serie A in the past.
When Lauriente couldn’t seal a move back to the Serie A, it came as a shock to many. His agent Roberto Meloni from Sport Royal Management has now spoken to Stile TV about his client’s future and his ambitions.
He said, as relayed by TMW: “He has always played for the team, he is focused on promotion, but he is showing that he has the quality of a higher category. He is not a second division player: he is ready for the big stages.”
He was also asked about whether Napoli were interested in signing the winger in January.
“Laurienté to Napoli? It takes three to get married. There were no calls in January, perhaps because the club had other priorities and Sassuolo also has its own objectives. However, Napoli has always been interested and the boy likes it as a destination. We are talking about a big club, but the right conditions are needed to close a deal like this.”
Meloni also spoke of the player’s price-tag and how things were in the summer transfer window.
He said: “This summer there were important offers for him, but Sassuolo rejected them. There was talk of figures around €15 million, so I think he could be sold for between €15 million and €20 million. But it’s just my assessment.”
If Lauriente keeps his performances going in the remainder of the season, he is sure to attract major interest. The Neroverdi are currently top of the table and are likely to be in Serie A next season.
