The ongoing saga involving Vinicius Jr., Real Madrid, and Saudi Arabia appears to have several chapters yet to unfold.

While the Spanish champions and the winger continue negotiating a contract extension, which is progressing well but with key details still unresolved, Saudi money looms in the background.

As has already been reported, the Middle Eastern nation have put forth an enormous proposal worth €1 billion over five years to tempt the Brazilian to make the switch.

They are also prepared to make a world-record bid worth around €350 million in order to lure the 24-year-old to the Saudi Pro League, but Real Madrid do not plan on a sale and insist that the only way he can leave is if a club triggers his €1 billion release clause.

Now, Jorge C Picon reports that those familiar with Saudi Arabia’s financial capacity affirm that they could easily afford to trigger Vinicius’ €1 billion release clause to take him away from Real Madrid.

As mentioned earlier, they are putting a contract offer worth €1 billion over five years and sources close to the situation insist that they could even increase that figure further.

Signing Vinicius is seen as a landmark move that could encourage more top-level footballers from Europe’s elite leagues to consider playing in Saudi Arabia.

It would be a massive investment with long-term implications, drawing global attention and helping to secure future signings. Because of this, every step is carefully calculated – they do not want to make mistakes.

Saudi Arabia believes that signing Vinicius would shift the balance in their favour. They are prepared to make their move if the Brazilian shows any willingness to engage.

For now, Saudi officials are working patiently behind the scenes. Despite media speculation, contact with Vinicius’ camp has been minimal in recent months. They are waiting for the right moment to step in, knowing they have already laid the groundwork with their initial approach.

Should renewal talks with Real Madrid break down, Saudi Arabia is already assessing what price would be enough to convince Real Madrid’s hierarchy to part ways with their star and are prepared to go all in to sign him, believing that any expense would be justified.
