Trailing to Crystal Palace last weekend, Everton recovered to pick up their first Premier League victory of the season.
Whilst Newcastle United impressed, more than holding their own against Manchester City, picking up a deserved point.
Sean Dyche Newcastle United press conference – Thursday 3 October:
“They can play… but they often get the ball forward quickly, so you have got to be alive to that, because they have pace on the counter.”
Getting that first Premier League win of the season at their sixth attempt:
“Confidence is a funny thing.
“It comes and goes.
“However, you have to have an underbelly of confidence to be a professional footballer.
“Of course it heightens it when you get a reward.”
Asked about media claims that new owner could make big money available to spend in January 2025:
“I try to stick to facts
“I certainly haven’t heard anything from the owners at all.
“Certainly not about transfer budgets.
“I’m always open to speak to whoever but I haven’t heard anything from their side of things.”
Sean Dyche asked about Dwight McNeil, who has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award:
“He continues to mature as a player.
“The change in position was something we have talked about a lot since I’ve been at the club.
“When we could do it and the reasons for doing it and so far it’s been productive.
“I still think he can operate all across that middle band of the pitch. He’s done very well and it looks to me like he’s enjoying his role.”
The Everton boss also confirmed that at least four players would miss the Newcastle United match – Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti.
