Experienced Serie A referee Davide Massa was in charge of a fiercely contested clash between Atalanta and Inter Milan last night.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, he passed the test with flying colors.
Inter put Atalanta to the sword in Bergamo, running out 2-0 victors to steer six points away from runners-up Inter.
Simone Inzaghi’s side took the lead at the start of the second half through Carlos Augusto.
After that, Lautaro Martinez struck his 11th league goal this term to cap off another remarkable win.
Massa had a relatively quiet game for most of the evening.
However, he came under the spotlight in the 81st minute for sending off Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

Indeed, he showed the Brazilian two yellows in less than a minute for harsh protests.
But he made the right call.
Meanwhile, Massa also sent Alessandro Bastoni into the locker room before the final whistle.
Whether it was the appropriate decision remains debatable.
Bastoni was already on a yellow before making a tactical foul on Daniel Maldini in the opposition’s half.
As such, Massa could’ve looked through his fingers.
