Slot delighted with full debut of Liverpool youngster | OneFootball

Arne Slot said he was delighted with the debut display of Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros at Brighton this week.

The 23-year-old made his full debut for the Reds in the Carabao Cup fourth round, in the absence of the injured Alisson Becker and rested Caoimhin Kelleher.

Jaros produced an impressive performance as Liverpool booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-2 at at the AMEX Stadium, including a superb stop to deny Simon Adingra.

Slot was impressed by the Czech shot-stopper, who won a league and cup double on loan at Austrian outfit Sturm Graz last season, praising how he handled the pressure around his first full appearance for the club.

“I like the last thing you say because everybody could see how important his saves were,” Slot said in his post-match press conference.

“I think the first big chance of the game was for them where he saved the one-versus-one and in the second half of course we all remember one or two saves as well.

“But he also added to that how comfortable he was with the ball at his feet: making the right choices on when to go short and when to clip the ball towards the striker, and it helped for him the quality Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez brought in build-up. So, I liked that triangle today a lot in ball possession.”
