Social media users joked about the timing of Real Madrid’s late goals against Manchester City last night as the Merengues ‘mystically’ scored as soon as Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti was seen raising his eyebrow.

Social media users joked about Ancelotti’s ‘signature move’ after which his Real Madrid side scored two late goals against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League knockout playoff on Tuesday.

Casually, Ancelotti appeared on camera with Manchester City leading 2-1 in the final minutes. The Italian tactician was seen raising his eyebrow, and the Merengues scored immediately afterwards through ex-Milan star Brahim Diaz.

Jude Bellingham finished the job by scoring the winner in the stoppages.

“Carlo Ancelotti‘s signature move,” wrote X account Troll Football.

Paddy Power joked: “Everything changed for Man City at this very moment. Ancelotti’s eyebrow is inevitable.”

Ancelotti spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the game, saying he hopes this is “just the start” for Real Madrid.

The Italian tactician has won multiple trophies with Real Madrid across two spells (2013–2015, 2021–present). His achievements include two Champions League titles (2014, 2022), two La Liga titles (2022, 2024) and two Copa del Reys (2014, 2023). He is the only coach to win all five major European leagues.
