One Chelsea player who is highly likely to be leaving the club very soon is taking serious interest now from a number of clubs in the Premier League and abroad.

Ben Chilwell has become a bit of a forgotten man at Chelsea this season after being pretty much frozen out by the club and new head coach Enzo Maresca in the summer.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea had big chance to sign rising England star but had reservations, and so did he!

He has become a very deep backup player and is unlikely to be featuring much at all this season other than some cameo roles in the domestic cups and in Europe, when Maresca uses a second string starting lineup.

Chilwell looks set to depart the club in one of the next two windows, with interest now coming in for January.

Chilwell wants to leave Chelsea

According to our own writer Simon Phillips writing on his Substack site this morning, the former England defender is now receiving interest for January.

Phillips writes:

‘Ben Chilwell now wants out because he wants to play football and save his international career, and Chelsea also want him gone.

‘Clubs are interested in Chilwell still, but at the moment there has been no serious approaches. However, SPTC sources have heard that Fulham, Crystal Palace, Ipswich, and Manchester United are the most interested clubs from the Premier League.

‘Chilwell has also had interest and agent approaches from clubs in La Liga and Serie A.

‘Chelsea are encouraging clubs to come forward for Chilwell by making them aware of his availability. They have spoken to a number of clubs for January already.’

You can understand why he wants out. It wasn’t long ago when he was made Chelsea vice-captain and was a regular in the England team. Now all of that seems a distant memory and he needs to go now in order to get his football career back on track.
