Southampton are linked with Danny Rohl as their new manager in the summer, replacing Ivan Juric who was only appointed last month.

In December, Southampton made the difficult but necessary decision to sack Russell Martin. While the former coach gave Southampton some great moments, it was his stubbornness which set the Saints back in the Premier League.

Ivan Juric was hired as his replacement, against all odds. The Croatian coach has not made an immediate impact at Southampton but long-term defender Jan Bednarek believes that Juric is more reactionary than Martin was, which could serve the Saints well in the long-run.

Nevertheless, Southampton seem to have their eyes set on another manager. Indeed, they might simply view Juric as a short-term solution for a long-term fix.

According to talkSPORT, there is a break-clause in Ivan Juric's contract, which could see the Croatian manager leave at the end of the season if Southampton are relegated. Due to this, talkSPORT has predicted that Danny Rohl could become the Southampton manager for next season.

The reason being is because Southampton have never fallen out of love with Danny Rohl, who was once a coach at St Marys Stadium. In fact, they would have hired Rohl to replace Martin initially, but they didn't want to pay the £5m release clause in Rohl's Sheffield Wednesday contract.

It would be a great move if Danny Rohl was hired as Southampton manager. Of course, if Juric keeps the sinking ship afloat and keeps Southampton in the Premier League from this stage, he should be given all the trust in the world. However, if not, then Rohl would be the best option going forward.

Rohl already knows Southampton. From his former role at St Marys Stadium, he will be familiar with some of the long-term Saints. Therefore, it would be within his intentions to put Southampton back on the straight and narrow for the long-term future.
