Southampton want a transfer fee in the region of €8m to €9m for Kamaldeen Sulemana with a high sell-on clause in order to sanction an exit amid interest from France.
Saints signed Sulemana from Rennes in the winter of 2023 and last season he helped Southampton to earn promotion.
This season the 22-year-old winger fell out of favour under previous manager Russell Martin, but under new boss Ivan Juric he has been reinstated in the team.
Sulemana is attracting interest from France with Lens eager to take him back to Ligue 1.
The French outfit offered to take Sulemane on loan with an option to buy in the summer, which Southampton have rejected.
Southampton are not interested in a loan deal and only want a permanent transfer for the 22-year-old.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, only an offer in the region of €8m to €9m with a high resale percentage will be able to convince Southampton.
It is suggested that Sulemana is in favour of a return to France and might be willing to take a pay cut to do that.
Now all eyes will be on the French outfit to see whether they will be ready to match Southampton’s demands to secure the signature of Sulemana.
