Alvaro Morata, Spain’s national team forward, recently shared his views on various football-related topics in a brief but interesting interview.

When asked about the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, Morata revealed that if it were up to him, he would choose either Dani Carvajal or Rodri for the honour this year. His response was direct, highlighting his admiration for his fellow Spaniards’ outstanding performances.

In this short interview, Morata didn’t hold back when responding to some quickfire questions. He gave his honest opinion on who deserves the Golden Ball, who he considers the best player in the world, and even talked about who he would face in a boxing match.

Morata’s take

When asked about which footballer he would be willing to step into a boxing ring with, Morata playfully mentioned Dani Carvajal, suggesting that the two have thought about it in the past.

“Carvajal and I want to do it,” he was quoted by MARCA. His lighthearted remark shows the strong camaraderie between the teammates.

The interview continued with more interesting questions, including one about which player Morata would like to see wear the Spanish national team jersey.

Without hesitation, he named “Kylian Mbappe”, a nod to the French superstar’s immense talent and influence on the game. Morata’s admiration for Mbappe as a player is evident, as he wishes for the forward to one day represent Spain.

On the topic of the Ballon d’Or, Morata expressed his desire for Rodri or Carvajal to win the award.

“Rodri or Carvajal,” he said.

Both players have enjoyed exceptional seasons, with Rodri playing a crucial role in Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign, while Carvajal shone at Real Madrid last season. Morata’s picks reflect his belief in their contributions to both club and country.
