A head-turning statistic surrounding the respective exploits of Barcelona and Real Madrid stars Raphinha and Vinícius Jr. on the international stage has today come to the fore online.
This comes after both played their part in Brazil’s meeting with Venezuela.
The Seleção marked their return to action late last night, in a World Cup qualifying fixture at The Estadio Monumental de Maturín.
When all was said and done, Brazil were forced to make do with a share of the spoils, owing to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate.
And as much came amid altogether contrasting fortunes on the part of Raphinha and Vinícius…
In the case of the former, he netted the only goal for Dorival Júnior’s side, courtesy of a sumptuous bending free-kick late in the first-half.
Vinícius, on the other hand, toiled once more in the colours of his country, fluffing his lines after being afforded the opportunity to put Brazil back in front from the penalty spot during the 2nd-half.
And as much, as alluded to above, has since given rise to an altogether noteworthy statistic.
As revealed by Mundo Deportivo, despite having lined out for the Seleção on six fewer occasions, Raphinha has now doubled Vinícius’ international goalscoring tally.
The Barcelona standout has also managed six assists to his Real Madrid counterpart’s five.
