Just as he was on the pitch Tuesday night, VfB Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav found himself at a loss to explain why his goal against Juventus Turin was chalked off due to a supposed handball in the lead-up. The 28-year-old spoke on the matter whilst conducting a post-match interview with German broadcaster DAZN.

"I didn't move my upper arm a single millimeter," Undav said, "There's no way that's a handball. If you take the ball with you but you arm isn't moving, there isn't an extra touch forward. But, if that's the rule, I'll take it all back and leave it alone."

When it came to the manner in which Stuttgart finally secured a well-deserved three points, Undav didn't allow his smile to flicker for an instant. Despite the fact that his contribution was wiped off the scoresheet, the German national tram striker continued to beam radiantly throughout the interview.

"We put a lot of work into this," Undav went on, "We were clearly the better team and dominated the game. [The end of the match] couldn't have been more dramatic. [Touré finish] was brutal. A world class first touch and finish."

Undav's VfB Stuttgart and German Nationalmannschaft teammate Jamie Leweling also had a chance to comment on the result. Leweling too felt as if the team fought hard and captured a totally deserved three points. The 23-year-old insisted that no one in red doubted that they could pull off the win.

“We were in control, had many chances to score, a lot of possession, and many forward actions,” Leweling said, ”At lunch, we had a good feeling. Everyone in the team kept up the feeling  that we would win. We demonstrated that until 90+7.”

“It feels amazing," Leweling continued, "The results so far were not what we had hoped for. We played really well against Real, not so well against Prague, and then the Bayern game in which we went down without a fight. This is much better. It doesn't get any better than this."
