Now, they will visit a top four Premier League club, Nottingham Forest.

Furthermore, Nottingham Forest could even be called a Premier League title contender with the way they are playing. So, the Saints don't stand a chance against them, at least on paper.

But matches are played on the pitch anyway, thus, let's see the predictions before the game.

Recently, Opta's supercomputer predicted the results for the Premier League's ongoing 22nd matchday. The supercomputer claims the home side will run out eventual winners inflicting another huge defeat on Southampton.

To the extent, that the supercomputer even considered a draw to happen much likely than a Southampton win. Still, it's nothing surprising but the stat it revealed further is concerning.

In their own words, the stat read: "Their opponents Saints are winless in their last 23 Premier League games against sides starting the day in the top four (eight draws, 15 defeats), since a 1-0 win against Liverpool in January 2021."

Four years without a win over any top four team is embarrassing. Defeating any quality Premier League side is tough but it doesn't remain this way always.

Clubs like Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and others do it every once in a while.

Even Sunday's opponents Nottingham Forest have defeated Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs already in the Premier League. Talking about Southampton, they took the lead against a few top teams but conceded multiple goals later.

The most recent example was against Manchester United where they couldn't hold their 1-0 lead for the remaining ten minutes.
