Swansea City welcome Luka Modric as a new co-owner | OneFootball

Swansea City have confirmed that Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has joined the club as an investor and co-owner.

In one of the more unlikely unveilings this season, the legendary Croatian has bought into the Swans which the club describes as ' an endorsement of the club’s ambition and vision'.

"This is an exciting opportunity," Modric said about his investment. "Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase, and the ambition to compete at the highest level. Playing at the highest level, I believe I can provide my experience to the club. My goal is to support the club’s growth in a positive way and to help to build an exciting future."

Modric is the latest in a large reshuffle behind the scenes at the Welsh club who currently sit 11th in the Championship, eight points off the play-off places.

Swansea fans can likely watch their new owner in action on Wednesday as Real Madrid look to overturn a 3-0 deficit in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal.
