Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this evening’s Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen. The game at Pittodrie represents a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Cup Final but the manager has opted to name a number of players that are unlikely to start when the teams meet at Hampden next Saturday.
Vil Sinisalo starts in goals.
In defence, Maik Nawrocki comes into the side to partner Auston Trusty. Tony Ralston continues at right back with Jeff Schlupp at left back.
Callum McGregor starts in the heart of the midfield with Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo coming into the team, as expected.
Johnny Kenny starts through the middle with Yang and James Forrest in the wide areas.
Subs: Schmeichel, Johnston, Taylor, Scales, Idah, Kühn, Engels, Hatate, McArdle
Rodgers will be eager to see his Celtic fringe players take the chance of being in the first team. Guys like Kenny can make a claim to remain at Celtic instead of leaving on loan while Schlupp and Nawrocki are playing for their future.
