Paris Saint Germain prevailed over Inter Milan in the final of the UEFA Champions League final last night with one of the most one-sided and dominant finals in the competition’s history.

Luis Enrique’s side were far superior to the Nerazzuri and showed them levels on the field, scoring five goals and getting their hands on the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in their history.

The streets in Paris, needless to say, rejoiced like never before but it was inevitable that talks of Kylian Mbappe were brought into picture, especially considering that the club has gone on to win immediately after he left them.

Mbappe’s graceful congratulations

Ironically, Mbappe left PSG to join Real Madrid to fulfill his dream of winning the UCL only for his former club to go on and win it.

He does not, however, deserve any slack for his social media post congratulating PSG, which shows the special place he still retains for them.

“The big day has finally arrived. Victory and with the manner of a whole club, Congratulations, PSG,” he wrote on his Instagram with a photo of the UCL trophy.

A lot has been said and will be said in the coming days about PSG playing better without Mbappe and whether his departure was possibly a blessing in disguise for them. Yet, he is still young and has a long way to go.

Mbappe’s first season in Madrid has been a success on a personal level and he will win many more UCL titles with Real Madrid in the years to come.

After all, the men in white will be serious contenders as early as next season with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen already signing for the club.
