Thierry Henry Explains Why PSG’s Loss to Arsenal Highlights Absence of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium. Moreover, the squad’s inability to score again showed up which was an issue on Matchday 1 and Thierry Henry notes that PSG miss having Kylian Mbappé or at least a player of his caliber.

The match started with two costly mistakes by Gianluigi Donnarumma, leading to goals for the home team. The first came when the Italian goalkeeper left his line to catch a seemingly harmless cross. His decision backfired, allowing Kai Havertz to head the ball into the net.

For the second goal, Donnarumma misjudged a free-kick from Bukayo Saka. While Arsenal had players crowding the area, which could have obstructed his view, the 25-year-old attempted to swat the ball but missed entirely as it sailed into the net.

Nonetheless, the PSG attack couldn’t bail out Donnarumma with any goals and Henry notes that the capital club lack that difference maker that they used to have in Mbappé.

“Yes, the team is balanced, they had possession… but that’s about it,” Henry said on CBS Sports (h/t Sport.fr). “And it’s not enough. You no longer have that ‘game-winner’ you used to have.

“You can see that there’s a plan, that the players know what to do. But when they get close to the box, apart from Barcola who tried some things, we didn’t see much.”
