Tammy Abraham sends a message to Roma fans after what they did in the Coppa Italia quarter-final was ‘not nice,’ while Fikayo Tomori explains why he turned down Tottenham to stay at Milan.
It was a strong performance from the Rossoneri, who took a commanding 2-0 half-time lead thanks to the brace from Abraham against his former club, both on Theo Hernandez passes.
Artem Dovbyk pulled one back after coming off the bench, but it was a perfect debut for two new deadline day signings in the Milan jersey.
Santiago Gimenez provided the assist to spring the offside trap, with Joao Felix scoring on a delightful lob.
“I am very happy with the victory. I think we deserved this win, but now we must recover, rest and be ready for the next match,” Abraham told Sport Mediaset.
The striker was playing against his former club and seemed hurt and irritated when he was jeered by the Roma fans during his substitution.
He gestured towards them a mime of lifting the Conference League trophy, referring to the high point of their time together.
“Everybody knows how I feel about Roma, it’s a club that means a lot to me. It wasn’t nice. I think they thought I celebrated, but I didn’t celebrate, I was just thanking God. This is football, it happens, now we are in the semi-finals and we must be ready to win.”

Milan go through to the Coppa Italia semi-final, where they will face either Inter or Lazio in the only two-legged phase of the tournament.
Defender Tomori also spoke to Sport Mediaset after the final whistle at San Siro of this 3-1 victory.
“We are all ready to help the team, we knew it was an important match for our season, as we wanted to reach the semi-final. After the derby, where we played a good game and obviously did not win, it was still a good performance. Now we are happy with this result.”
Tomori had been heavily linked with a January exit, first to Juventus and then with a deal practically done for Tottenham Hotspur, but he turned the Premier League side down.
“I have been here for four years, I am happy here. The last season hasn’t been what I wanted, but I feel at home here and want to give my all for this team.”
Milan have revamped in the transfer window, bringing in Joao Felix, Santiago Gimenez, Riccardo Sottil and currently injured Warren Bondo.
“We had a strong squad before too, we’re happy for Joao, Santi and also Riccardo who made their debut tonight. They can help us, I’m sure we can get where we want to at the end of the season, both in the Coppa Italia and the Champions League,” concluded Tomori.
