Tottenham are gearing up for the summer transfer window in June, and the rumours are already in full swing.

Although we’re still a few months away from the peak of transfer speculation, we can already get an idea of who Tottenham have their eye on.

One of them is Wolverhampton striker Matheus Cunha, with Spurs once again being linked to him and reportedly considering activating his release clause this summer.

Another name on the list is forward Dusan Vlahovic, who currently plays for Juventus but is said to be on his way out now that the club have secured Kolo Muani.

For now, attention is turning towards Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

According to Jornal de Noticias, the Danish midfielder is one of Tottenham’s top targets for the summer window.

The report also claims that manager Ange Postecoglou has joined the race for the 25-year-old, but Spurs aren’t the only ones after him—Manchester United are also in pursuit.

With major clubs chasing Hjulmand, Sporting CP are reportedly open to listening to offers, as they are aware they may not be able to hold onto him if he decides to leave.

However, the Danish midfielder has an €80m release clause, and reports suggest there is no room for negotiation on a lower fee.

What does the future hold for the young midfielders?

Morten Hjulmand could arrive at Tottenham at a time when the squad is struggling with injuries.

On top of that, recent reports suggest the club are looking to part ways with midfielder Yves Bissouma in the summer, meaning Hjulmand could be brought in to fill that gap.

But how would this affect the younger midfielders in the squad?

Both Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have stepped up to cover this area due to injuries elsewhere, and both have already earned Postecoglou’s trust.

Will their roles be reduced if a more experienced midfielder arrives, or could they be sent out on loan? Only time will tell.
