On Sunday afternoon, Bayern Munich were held to a 3-3 draw at the Deutsche Bank Park by a resilient Eintracht Frankfurt side, which allowed RB Leipzig to draw level on points with Der Rekordmeister at the top of the Bundesliga table.

However, failing to bounce back from their Champions League defeat to Aston Villa in midweek was not the only frustrating talking point for Vincent Kompany, who had to deal with two key injuries during the clash with Die Adler.

After 72 minutes, Harry Kane was forced off the pitch—in a similar manner to how he was against Bayer Leverkusen on matchday five—and replaced by Mathys Tel.

After the final whistle, Kompany offered an update on Kane’s situation: “It’s too early to say what’s wrong with him. We hope it’s not that bad.”

As well as this, the Belgian head coach could be without Dayot Upamecano for the coming weeks as the 25-year-old was also unable to complete the full 90 minutes.

Having drawn Bayern back level earlier in the game, the Frenchman was withdrawn moments before Omar Marmoush made it 3-3 in injury time.

According to Sky Germany, the severity of both injuries is currently unknown, but Kane and Upamecano will be assessed during the week.

For Kompany and Bayern, the international break could not have arrived at a more opportune time.
