Barcelona will be dreaming of the Champions League final, but their hopes of getting there have suffered an early blow as Inter have taken the lead in the very early stages of the first leg of their semi-final tie.
Hansi Flick’s side have regularly taken early leads in their matches this season, but on this occasion, they are the ones to fall behind. The goal has come after 30 seconds, and it has been scored by Inter’s Marcus Thuram.
A poor clearance from Jules Kounde allows Inter to recycle the ball, and Denzel Dumfries’ cross is turned home by Thuram, who flicks the ball past Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
It is the worst possible start for Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi spoke pre-match of his confidence at getting a result, and so far, they are on course to take a lead back to Milan for the second leg.
