Injury and suspension limits Julen Lopetegui’s options in attack

West Ham will be without Mohammed Kudus for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The forward was sent off during last weekend’s 4-1 loss at rivals Tottenham for clashing with Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Pape Matar Sarr.

Kudus has since been charged by The Football Association (FA) for “allegedly acting in an improper manner and/or used violent conduct after the offence he was sent off for”.

Both the Hammers and Spurs have been charged for “failing to ensure that their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way”.

Kudus, who had until Thursday to respond to the charge, faces a minimum ban of three games.

Manager Julen Lopetegui has struggled in the opening few months of his tenure and could certainly do with what would be a statement win over the Red Devils on Sunday.

The Irons boss, however, will likely remain without striker Niclas Fullkrug as he continues to try and shake off a calf injury.

West Ham predicted XI: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Rodriguez, Alvarez; Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville; Antoino

Suspended: Kudus

Doubt: Fullkrug

Time and date: 2pm GMT on Sunday 27 October 2024

Venue: London Stadium

TV channel and live stream: Not available in the UK
