What Napoli need to win the Scudetto after Inter victory

Napoli now need only seven points from the remaining three games to clinch the Serie A title, as they maintained their advantage over Inter at the top of the table.
The Partenopei were three points behind just a couple of weeks ago, but managed to make up ground and overtake their rivals thanks to back-to-back Nerazzurri defeats to Bologna and Roma.
Antonio Conte’s men ensured it is all in their hands with this evening’s 1-0 victory away to Lecce, secured by a Giacomo Raspadori free kick.
While Inter managed to get the better of Verona too at San Siro, it still means Napoli can afford to draw one of their remaining three fixtures and still take the title.

If the two teams were to finish level on points, then regardless of head to head record or goal difference, the Scudetto would be decided by a play-off.
That now seems unlikely, as the remaining Napoli matches are at home to Genoa, away to Parma and then hosting Cagliari on May 25.
As for Inter, who also have to play Barcelona on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final, they will see out the season away to Torino, at home to Lazio and visiting Cesc Fabregas’ Como.

This would be the fourth Scudetto in Napoli’s history, but after waiting over 30 years to celebrate, they’re on the verge of their second in only three years.
