The 28-year-old’s main competition for the award come in the form of current Blaugrana pair Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha.
The undisputed star of the show at the Allianz Arena, meanwhile, was Désiré Doué, whose haul of two goals and an assist is also expected to catapult the young attacker into contention for the Golden Boy award.
This is a race which, until last night at least, had also been led by a Barcelona star, namely defender Pau Cubarsí.
