Xavi Simons has decided to leave RB Leipzig this summer amid interest in the midfielder from Bayern Munich and the Premier League.

Simons is keen to quit Leipzig in search of a new challenge at the end of the campaign. The Dutch international joined Leipzig on an initial loan deal in 2023/24, before his transfer to the German side was made permanent in January.

Leipzig paid Paris Saint-Germain an initial £42m to sign Simons, but are prepared to cash in for an instant profit.

The 22-year-old was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season last season, after scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists across all competitions.

This season, he’s scored nine goals in the Bundesliga and created seven more, despite an up-and-down season for Leipzig.

The Germans sacked head coach Marco Rose in March after a disappointing campaign. Leipzig are seventh in the Bundesliga and set to miss out on Champions League qualification. Their European season also ended in meek fashion, losing seven of their eight games in this season’s Champions League.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leipzig have been informed of Simons’ desire to leave and there is interest from Bayern Munich and England. Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs have been credited as admirers. Leipzig will demand around €80m (£67.3m) to sell Simons.
