Barcelona president Laporta’s Erling Haaland strategy confirmed | OneFootball

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has set his sights firmly on the signature of Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Monday provided an insight into Laporta’s squad plans for the next couple of years in Catalunya’s capital.

The Spanish patron, it is understood, is nothing short of determined to secure two high-profile signings, by the time his stint at the Camp Nou helm comes to a close in 2026.

One such addition could come in the form of Athletic Club standout Nico Williams, also targeted by Barcelona this past summer.

The identity of the other, though, is not at all open for debate.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Sport that:

‘Despite the delicate economic situation that FC Barcelona has been going through for several years, president Laporta has been dreaming for a long time and slowly articulating the strategy to sign Erling Haaland in either 2025 or 2026.’

Confident owing to his strong relationship with Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, Laporta is ready to ‘do everything’ possible to make the Norwegian’s arrival a reality.

Any such signing would also come as part of the ‘reopening’ strategy being drawn up by Barca’s president and his team for the Spotify Camp Nou.
