Club Deportivo Guadalajara is not only a sports reference in Mexican soccer, but also an example of leadership in innovation and sustainability. From its commitment to the future of sports and the community, Chivas has joined forces with Verde Compacto, the pioneer in Indoor Vertical Farming in Latin America, to inaugurate Verde Compacto's Husvter in the heart of the Akron Stadium.

As part of the multiple actions of REVIVE and with the presence of Amaury Vergara, this Friday the Huvster was inaugurated at the Akron Stadium.

What is the Huvster and what is it for Guadalajara?

A Huvster is a vertical hydroponic farm installed inside a 40-foot container, designed to maximize fresh food production throughout the year. It has the capacity to produce the equivalent of 5,000 m² of traditional crops in only 30 m². If we were to translate this to soccer terms, the Huvster is capable of producing the equivalent of a soccer field, using only the small area.

This vertical farm is an efficient solution that not only optimizes the use of space, but will also provide the fans and the team with fresh, high quality vegetables directly from the stadium.

In addition, thanks to the Huvster's water recirculation system, a 90% saving in water consumption will be achieved, contributing to the reduction of the water footprint and promoting a more responsible food production.

The benefits for Akron Stadium are manifold. In addition to offering fresh, local ingredients for its gastronomic offerings, the installation of the Huvster will reduce the environmental impact by eliminating unnecessary food transportation and optimizing the use of natural resources. As if that were not enough, the food grown at the Huvster will also be used to feed Guadalajara's staff and players.

Amaury Vergara's role in this project

Amaury Vergara, who decided to invest in Verde Compacto after learning about its work at Shark Tank Mexico, has been instrumental in bringing this innovative technology to the Akron Stadium. This alliance strengthens the Rebaño's commitment to innovation, sustainability and the future, becoming a reference in the world, as the home of the Rebaño is the only stadium in the world with a vertical farm.

With projects such as the Huvster, Club Deportivo Guadalajara and REVIVE continue to take firm steps towards a greener, more sustainable and prosperous future for all.
