Miami, FL – The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned LD Alajuelense and Real Estelí FC for failing to implement adequate stadium security measures, leading to overcrowding, during their 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup Semifinal matches against Antigua GCF on October 30 and CS Herediano on October 31, respectively.
After considering the documentation and evidence gathered during their investigation and based on the competition’s regulations and the applicable Disciplinary Code, the Disciplinary Committee has fined both clubs and ordered them to play their next home match in the competition at an 80% capacity.
The Committee has also warned the clubs that more severe sanctions could be taken should incidents occur during future matches.
