Ex-Real Madrid star provides Arda Güler response to Messi vs Ronaldo question | OneFootball

Former Real Madrid star Mesut Özil this week continued to endear himself ever further to supporters of both Los Blancos, and Turkey.

This came by way of a response provided by the ex-midfielder during an exchange with the media.

Taking his place in a press conference this week, the age old question was put to Özil: Lionel Messi, or Cristiano Ronaldo?

The 36-year-old, however, opted for neither in the GOAT debate, instead lightheartedly choosing Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler as his answer.

Özil, for his part, is very much familiar with the talents boasted by Real Madrid’s midfield gem.

This comes with the ex-Arsenal and Real Madrid standout having spent a season lining out alongside Güler back in 2021/22, during a shared stint in the Turkish Süper Lig with Fenerbahçe.

Both left-footed attack-minded midfielders boasting technique and flair in equal measure, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of Özil being highly appreciative of Güler’s talents.
