Erling Haaland is fit and available for Manchester City ahead of this weekend’s trip to Southampton.
Haaland has not featured since sustaining an ankle injury during the FA Cup win at Bournemouth in late March. He returned to the bench against Wolves last Friday, but was an unused substitute for the 1-0 win at the Etihad.
City travel to face relegated Southampton tomorrow and Pep Guardiola has confirmed Haaland is available to feature. The Spaniard did not confirm whether the 24-year-old would start at St Mary’s.
“Ready, he’s fit,” Guardiola said on Haaland at his pre-match press conference.
“If he’ll start, we’ll decide (tomorrow).”
Haaland’s return is a welcome boost to the Citizens who are pushing to secure Champions League qualification.
The club’s leading scorer will also hope to build his fitness ahead of the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on May 17th. City are also in Club World Cup action over the summer. Haaland has scored 30 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.
Guardiola confirmed that Rodri, Oscar Bobb and Nathan Ake remain unavailable despite returning to light training.
