Lazio coach Marco Baroni feels that Inter Milan are “the strongest team in Serie A” after today’s 2-2 thriller.
Baroni spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He gave his immediate reaction to a result that was not necessarily ideal for either team.
Inter Milan and Lazio played out a frenetic 2-2 draw at the San Siro this evening.
The Nerazzurri took the lead twice. But Lazio managed equalize twice as well, with both goals coming from substitute Pedro.
In the first half, Inter dominated the ball, and created a number of half-chances. But they only eventually broke through via a set piece.
Then, in the second half, Lazio started to get more and more into the match.
The Biancocelesti took a point that keeps them alive in the race for Champions League football next season – though only just.
Meanwhile, Inter will know that the title race goes down to the final day. However, they squandered an opportunity to get ahead of Napoli in the table after the Partenopei drew away in Parma.

After the match, Lazio coach Marco Baroni gave a positive assessment of his team’s performance.
“We had the best chances,” he said.
“I asked the team to play a technical match. And that’s what they did.”
“I congratulated the guys,” Baroni said. “Because we were playing against the strongest team in Serie A, at San Siro, and in this atmosphere.”
“I can only congratulate them,” he added.
“Inter are a very strong team,” the Biancocelesti coach went on. “They can suffer a physical match, or a pressing match.”
“But we don’t have the same characteristics, and we’ve played a lot of matches.”
“We had to play a technical match with personality, and we did so,” Marco Baroni added.
“Though it’s clear that it certain situations, we needed more composure.”
“Like in the one-on-one between Isaksen and Sommer,” he noted.
