Manchester United have reportedly intensified their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, maintaining active communication, according to Daily Mail.
The Red Devils seek to bolster their offensive options ahead of the summer transfer window.
There is desperate need for attacking signing at United considering how poor they have been in the final third this season.
Their creators have not created enough and that has resulted in their strikers not scoring enough goals.
In order to address that issue, Ruben Amorim is ready to step into the market to make additions to his squad and sign players who can help the club create chances as well as score them.
Simons, who is valued at €80million (£67million), has attracted attention from Man United as well as Liverpool. However, the Red Devils have maintained contact with him which shows how serious they are in signing him.
Amorim’s team may have some trouble in afford the hefty price tag of the player but that is not their only issue.

Both Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also interested in signing the Dutch midfielder.
Simons is a player who cannot only play in the central roles but also out wide. He is exactly the kind of versatile player they need in their team who can contribute with key passes in the final third.
Manager Marco Rose described the talented Netherlands international midfielder as a ‘difference-maker’.
In terms of attacking additions, United are also considering a move for Ipswich town attacker Liam Delap who has scored 12 Premier League goals this season.
