Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Argentine prodigy Franco Mastantuono, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The River Plate sensation is on PSG’s radar, with sporting advisor Luis Campos pushing for a deal. Talks between the Ligue 1 champions and the player’s camp are underway.

Campos is reportedly a long-time admirer of the teenager and his versatility. He is an attacking midfielder and can also play on the right flank.

Mastantuono has emerged as one of South America’s most sought-after prospects.

The left-footed playmaker has already racked up seven goals and four assists in 18 senior appearances this season.

Manchester United have shown strong interest, having held two meetings regarding the youngster.

While he would be a natural fit on the right side of a front three in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, United remain reluctant to meet his €40 million release clause.

Marseille tried to jump the queue, with club president Pablo Longoria travelling to Argentina to convince Mastantuono to join them. However, the player rejected their approach.

With PSG now in the mix and European heavyweights circling, the battle for Mastantuono’s signature promises to be one of the most-watched transfer stories this summer.

If PSG are chasing Mastantuono this summer, the club may be ready to let go of Lee Kang-In.

The South Korean is an excellent bargain for any club looking for a creative attacking midfielder who works incredibly hard defensively.

Despite starting only 19 Ligue 1 games, he registered six goals. He is an underrated talent who can serve the clubs that fail to land Mastantuono.
