Inter Milan will look to “put the feat into Napoli and then hope” in the final two matches of the Serie A title race.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that their remains optimism in the Nerazzurri camp.

Inter Milan’s fate is not in their hands in the run-in of the Serie A title race.

The Nerazzurri are behind Napoli at the top of the table after costly slip-ups against Bologna and Roma last month.

However, the picture is not totally bleak.

That is particularly the case after Napoli’s draw against Genoa last weekend. That slip-up saw Napoli’s advantage reduce to just a solitary point, and any margin for error evaporate.

Moreover, Napoli have not necessarily been putting in convincing performances in recent weeks.

As the Partenopei limp towards the finish line, they’ve had to grind out 1-0 wins against teams like Monza and Parma.

Inter Milan believe that Napoli are really feeling the pressure now.

Antonio Conte’s team have two winnable matches left on paper. They face Parma away tomorrow, and then close out the season by hosting Cagliari.

However, Parma away is a fixture in which Inter dropped points last month.

Moreover, the Gialloblu will have every motivation to get a result, They still find themselves in the relegation battle.

Cagliari will hardly be a straightforward opponent on the final day either.

Therefore, Inter’s aim is to do their bit and win their own final two matches – tricky fixtures against Lazio and Como.

From there, the Nerazzurri believe that Napoli will start to feel doubts. And that is the thing that is giving Inter that they’ll get ahead at the top of the table right when it matters most.
