Rangers Favourite Absolutely SLAUGHTERS Clement as ‘arrogant’

It’s never a dull day when Neil Warnock opens his mouth—and this time, it’s former Rangers boss Philippe Clement in the firing line. The veteran manager, well known for his brutal honesty and no-nonsense takes, hasn’t minced his words when reflecting on the Belgian’s time in Scotland. Speaking candidly, Warnock branded Clement “arrogant” and made it clear he had little patience or respect for him during their brief overlap in the SPFL.
Warnock, a friend of Rangers and someone who’s always taken an interest in the club, gave his verdict in typically frank style. He suggested Clement carried an air of superiority that didn’t sit well with people around him. “I didn’t have much time for him,” Warnock said, citing a distant attitude and a lack of humility. For a man who’s worked with everyone from pampered Premier League stars to scrappy League Two battlers, Warnock’s benchmark for character is clear—and Clement, evidently, didn’t meet it.
This kind of feedback only cements what many Rangers fans have come to accept in hindsight—that Clement, for all the hype, never truly connected with the club or its values. His dismissive body language on the touchline, lack of emotion in interviews, and stubborn tactical decisions all contributed to a growing sense of detachment. He was no Walter, no Gerrard, not even a Beale in terms of engagement. And now, with someone like Warnock pulling back the curtain, we get a glimpse into how he was perceived behind the scenes too.
It’s not just sour grapes either—Warnock has no axe to grind. He’s simply giving an honest account, and if anything, it puts into perspective why Clement’s tenure fizzled out so meekly. He came with the usual credentials and promises, but he left with nothing in the cabinet and very little goodwill. For a club that thrives on passion, commitment, and unity, arrogance is the fastest way to burn bridges—and that’s exactly what Clement did.
Warnock’s comments might ruffle feathers in some circles, but they echo what many inside and outside Ibrox were quietly thinking. Clement never got it. Never got us.
