Roma leave out Mario Hermoso amid Bayer Leverkusen talks | OneFootball

Mario Hermoso is not even in the Roma squad to face Udinese, as he is reported to be on the verge of a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Giallorossi will be at the Bluenergy Arena on Sunday at 14.00 GMT for Serie A Week 22.

However, Hermoso was not part of the group travelling with coach Claudio Ranieri and it comes amid growing reports he is already on his way out of the club.

Multiple sources including Sky Sports Deutschland and transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claim that Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced talks to sign the 29-year-old Spain international.

He only joined Roma as a free agent on September 2 after leaving Atletico Madrid, but following 13 appearances between Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia, he slipped down the pecking order.

Mats Hummels has largely been chosen in his place since Ranieri took over from Ivan Juric and predecessor Daniele De Rossi.
