According to L’Equipe, Anderlecht are working on a deal with Lyon to sign Brazilian defender Adryelson on loan until the end of the season. Part of the loan agreement will be that the Belgian club have a purchase option of around €5m. With the experienced Jan Vertonghen having suffered another injury set back, and the departure of Zanka to the MLS, the side are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements.
The 26-year-old Adryelson has only just returned to the Ligue 1 club from a spell with Botafogo in Brazil. During his time there he scored once in 11 games as the side won Brazil’s Serie A. The side are linked to Lyon through owner John Textor, who is also the owner of another Brussels club in RWDM. Adryelson joined Lyon from Botafogo in January 2024 but has only been able to make four appearances for the side. His contract with the club runs until 2028.
