Ghana star Andre Ayew has revealed that he is very optimistic for the country’s footballing future despite their World Cup exit in the group stages.
Ayew had missed a vital penalty in the first half against Uruguay and had a poor outing, which eventually led to the South American side winning the game but going out of the tournament despite that.
After the game Ayew spoke to TV3 (via GhanaWeb) about the game and his missed penalty and he stated that the country’s footballing future is quite bright.
He stated: “I’m very disappointed with the results. We had the opportunity to go to the next stage, I got a penalty and I missed it, so it is difficult to take.
“The game was played on details and we did not get it right, I did not get it right with my penalty but I am very optimistic for the future. God gives most difficult battles to those who can fight them and wake up.”
