The Women’s Champions League was back in action on Thursday evening with four games on show.

Barcelona keep up 100% record with easy win

Barcelona made it five out of five in this season’s Champions League with a dominant win against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Patricia Guijarro gave Barça the lead in the 19th minute with a brilliantly right-footed curled shot past the Frankfurt keeper.

Into the second half, they looked for a second goal to ice the game with Lucy Bronze coming closest, hitting the post with a header from a cross.

They got that second with less than 20 minutes to go and, again, it was a brilliant strike from distance, this time Caroline Graham Hansen firing the ball against the post and into the net.

Despite having 17 shots, Los Cules could not add to their lead but it mattered little as they saw out the game.

It will take a serious team to knock the champions off their perch this season.

Lyon seal top spot with seven-star win against St. Pölten

Scorers: Hegerberg 21′, 35′, Däbritz 22, 87”, Gilles 55′, Marozsán 79′, Diani 83′

Lyon put on an absolute show to seal top spot in Group B, and sent a warning to the rest of Europe in the process.

The eight-time champions opened the scoring in the 21st minute through their most reliable source: Ada Hegerberg.

The Norwegian striker finished from close range after the ball fell towards her following a knockdown from a corner.

60 seconds later, it was two as Sara Däbritz finished coolly after some pinball in the Pölten box.

It was three and easy in the 35th minute with Hegerberg getting her second, again from two yards out. Some brilliant work down the right from Vicki Bècho eventually saw the ball fall to the 28-year-old who ended the game as a contest.

With no real hope of a Pölten comeback, Lyon slowed it down in the second half but did grab a fourth in the 55th minute, Vanessa Gilles rising highest to meet Selma Bacha’s corner.

Lyon signed the game off in style with three late goals from Dzsenifer Marozsán, Kadidiatou Diani and Däbritz again.

Rosengård claim famous draw against Benfica

Scorers: Schlough 13′, Kadowaki 82′; Silva 52′, Alidou 57′

Benfica were pegged back late on by Rosengård but remain in a good position to qualify for the knockouts.

After a relatively even start to the game, Olivia Schlough opened the scoring for Rosengård in the 13th minute.

The midfielder shot from the outside the box, placing the ball into the top corner.

The remainder of the first half was again quite evenly matched, with Benfica unable to breach the Swedes backline.

However, just seven minutes into the second 45, they did through Jéssica Silva, who tapped home from close range after a curling effort bounced back off the crossbar.

Just minutes later, they completed their comeback, Marie-Yasmine Alidou benefiting from a defensive mix-up to finish from a narrow angle.

Rosengård levelled things up again in the 82nd minute, Mai Kadowaki smartly finishing from close range after being played in.

Brann secure qualification with narrow win

Scorers: Lukášová (OG) 65′

Brann secured qualification with a narrow win against a determined Slavia Praha side.

In a game that was quite evenly matched, Praha made more of the chances but could not score, at least at the right end.

The sole goal came in the 65th minute, Olivie Lukášová turning the ball into her own net from close range.
