Barcelona maintain interest in Rayo Vallecano star | OneFootball

The transfer team at Barcelona remain interested in the signature of a member of the defensive ranks at La Liga rivals Rayo Vallecano.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Andrei Rațiu as the player in question.

For those not familiar with his name, Rațiu is a 26-year-old Romanian international, who shone for his country at the European Championships last summer.

The one-time Villarreal talent has since carried such form into the 2024/25 season, continuing to prove himself one of Rayo Vallecano’s star performers.

From his berth at right-back, Rațiu has racked up starts in all but three of Rayo’s La Liga fixtures, chipping in with a goal and two assists along the way.

And the ongoing excellence being displayed by the defender has not gone at all unnoticed at the aforementioned Barcelona.

As per Sport, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements behind Jules Koundé at right-back, Rațiu is considered the ideal profile by Deco and co.

Rațiu’s price-tag, though, could prove a stumbling block when it comes to the chances of striking a summer deal with Rayo Vallecano.
