Two members of the defensive ranks at Barcelona have racked up more forward passes than any other players in La Liga thus far this season.

That’s according to WhoScored, who point towards Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez as the pair in question.

Stoppers Cubarsí and Iñigo have both of course played leading roles for Barcelona across the campaign to date.

The two Spaniards have for the bulk of the term been amongst the first names on the team sheet of new boss Hansi Flick, tasked with implementing their manager’s risky offside trap system.

Cubarsí and Iñigo, though, have not only proven decisive when out of possession.

Both, too, have excelled on the ball, time and again setting Barca’s attacks in motion courtesy of pinpoint passes out from the back.

And as much, as alluded to above, has today been evidenced by the statistics.

As revealed by WhoScored, with 678 and 641 respectively, Cubarsí and Iñigo lead La Liga when it comes to forward passes in 2024/25.
