Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel rejects the opportunity to join Chelsea | OneFootball

According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel (19) has rejected the opportunity to sign for Chelsea during the winter transfer window. The Frenchman has favoured staying with his current club over a potential move to the Premier League.

After Chelsea’s initial approach for the former Rennes attacker, Tel has made it clear once again to the Bundesliga club that he wishes to stay in Germany as things stand and that a potential move away is not his priority in the winter transfer window.

The West London club had considered a potential swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku which would have seen the 19-year-old arrive at Stamford Bridge and the former RB Leipzig attacking midfielder return to Germany. However, with Tel’s lack of interest in leaving Bayern Munich, this option has now been taken off the table with the German club still pursuing a potential deal for Nkunku.
