Going into Match Week 26 we find Real Madrid and Barcelona sharing the top of the table with 54 points. Barça pip the defending champions with a better goal difference, and also have the advantage on head-to-head competition. They will be facing Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis, who have a rejuvenated Antony on their right.
Antony’s red card against Getafe was rescinded when Betis appealed that the referee’s report did not reflect what had occurred. He is currently in a form that was not seen when he was with Manchester United. Pellegrini is looking to stay on the top side of the table to be able to compete for a spot in the Champions League. Both teams will be coming off on a win in their respective matches before this face-off.

Since arriving in January, Antony has been in excellent form. Scoring three goals and having two assists in five appearances. He is undoubtedly valuable for Real Betis. Pablo Fornals, William Carvalho, and Hector Bellerin are still unavailable due to injury.

For Real Madrid on the other hand, Bellingham will miss out due to being suspended. Carvajal and Militao are still unavailable as well. Mbappé was not involved against Real Socieded due to a dental issue, but should most likely return for this match along side Valverde, who has been the rock at Real Madrid. Modrić might be needed here, in my opinion.
I really do want to root for Betis, particularly since Antony is in such a great form. But against Real Madrid? I think that’s a tough call. MAYBE they will be able to come up with a draw, realistically. But I’d say 2-1 to Real Madrid. Even without Bellingham, Valverde and Modrić would be able to handle the midfield just fine. It’s a game I can’t wait to see. Your thoughts?
