kicker reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach will sell defender Ko Itakura in the summer, as this will be the last time they can sell him for a fee.

Itakura has been linked with a move away from Borussia Park for a while now after it was revealed that he would not extend his contract at the club. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have both been linked to the Japanese international.

Gladbach will look to sell Itakura for a double-digit million fee, which will help them make a profit on the €5m they spent when he joined from Manchester City in 2022.

Despite interest from across the Bundesliga and Europe, Itakura is said to be interested in a move to the Premier League in the summer.

Over a turbulent past three years at Borussia Park, Itakura is one of the only players who has been consistent in his performances. Proving to be a reliable option in defence, despite also being able to play as a midfielder, like he did when he played for Schalke.
