Few Club América players have lived up to the giant task of representing the number 10 shirt since the departure of Cuauhtémoc Blanco back in 2007.
Cecilio Domínguez nearly lived up to the billing but was inconsistent and left the club after just two years, selling the player to Argentine outfit Independiente for $6m in January 2019.
After a tumultuous time at Independiente, where a financial crisis made it impossible to play either América or their players, Domínguez became the first signing of new Major League Soccer side Austin FC.
However, since they won’t start play until 2021, the Paraguay international needs to stay match-fit and has been loaned to Paraguayan giants Guaraní.
Guaraní are currently in fourth place in the 2020 Apertura campaign through 17 of 22 games. Guaraní are also participating in the 2020 Copa Libertadores in Group B alongside Palmeiras, Tigre, and Bolívar.
