The 31-year-old will play her club football back home in her native South Korea for the very first time at senior level following spells in Japan with INAC Kobe Leonessa and in England with The Blues.
Suwon announced the signing of Ji via their official social media channels in the early hours of this morning. Full details of her deal have been left undisclosed by the South Korean club.
Ji opted to leave Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions Chelsea this summer after spending eight years with the club. The midfielder left South West London having won no less than 13 major domestic trophies with The Blues including this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League title and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. The player is regarded as one of the very best overseas imports to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
The midfielder also holds legendary status with her country. The player is the all-time top appearance holder for South Korea with 125 caps while she has scored 61 goals at senior level, the highest tally of any men’s or women’s South Korean international. Ji will now be hoping to create special memories in South Korean club football with new club Suwon.
