Carlo Ancelotti’s name has been circulating a lot in the news in recent days, with his date now uncertain having seemed to be sealed.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanPress) report, Ancelotti was expected to leave Real Madrid and become the coach of the Brazilian national team. However, that deal that seems to have fallen through for various reasons.

Firstly, Brazil strongly wanted Ancelotti to be available in June, the month in which the Club World Cup will be played, in which Real Madrid will participate. The Italian coach had no intention of forcing his hand, which led to a tense delay.

After the meeting with the Brazilian delegation in London on Tuesday, images of his return to Madrid circulated which angered Ancelotti. He would have preferred to keep a low profile out of respect for Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid president.

Ancelotti seemingly likes the idea of leading Brazil, but ‘Don Carlo’ has built his immense career on a precise basis: loyalty. He has never said a wrong or unpleasant word towards an employer, even when he had a thousand reasons.

However, after his adventure with Los Blancos ends (which should still be at the end of the 2024-25 season), there will be no romantic return to AC Milan or Roma for the 65-year-old, despite the recent links.

Ancelotti is said to have confided to his friends that he is too tired of being a manager and that he is ready, if necessary, to accept a role as technical director with his son Davide as a head coach, wherever that might be.
