FC Barcelona have had a wonderful 2024-25 season, in which they claimed the domestic treble by winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Several Blaugrana stood out this season and contributed to the team’s big achievements, but none of them were as good as the Brazilian forward Raphinha.

The 28-year-old star has had the best season of his career so far and is already being seen as one of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Meanwhile, he is also negotiating a new contract with Barcelona, and although the player and the club are keen to continue being associated with one another, there have been some differences between the two parties as they negotiate Raphinha’s new contract.

These differences have raised some doubts about the Brazilian’s new contract at the Catalan club. However, these doubts were dispelled by the Blaugrana Sporting Director, Deco, who appeared in a recent interview and, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, confirmed that Raphinha will sign a new contract for one more year.

Talking about the Brazilian star, the Barcelona official said:

“I’ve known him for a long time, the first year was good, the second dipped but this year has been incredible. He’ll renew for one more year — he now has two left. A player has to be at 200% to be at Barça. From the first minute, Raphinha didn’t want to leave, he showed total confidence in himself, and we’re delighted because what we wanted was to raise the level.”

As Deco himself mentioned, the Samba star already had two years left on his current contract. However, the Blaugranes were keen to get him tied with a new contract, which is a testament to the good season he has had, and also to the importance that he has gained in Hansi Flick’s team.
