Eintracht Frankfurt have fended off interest from the Premier League, Saudi Premier League and an unnamed Bundesliga club to extend the contract of Dino Toppmöller.
According to Bild, Eintracht’s head coach is expected to sign a new deal by a further two years until 2028. The deal is expected to be made official, at the latest after their final home game of the season against St. Pauli on May 11. Toppmöller will reportedly earn more than €3m per season, including bonuses, but even that wouldn’t make him the highest paid coach in Eintracht’s history.
With die Adler currently sitting third in the Bundesliga with three games remaining and six points clear of RB Leipzig in fifth, UEFA Champions League football is becoming more of a possibility next season. Bild note that no other SGE coach has qualified for the UCL via the league.
However, a pay rise wasn’t Toppmöller’s priority in his new contract. The 44-year-old reportedly wanted guarantees regarding squad improvement ahead of the 2025/26 season so that Eintracht can compete across all competitions.
Eintracht Frankfurt have already showed an interest in signing Freiburg attacker Ritsu Doan in the summer, and will likely offer between €15m and €18m for the Japan international.
