Frankfurt played out a 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach last time out, with the result following draws against Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg.
Recent results mean that Die Adler now only sit five points clear of fifth-placed VfB Stuttgart and two ahead of RB Leipzig, who drew against Augsburg on Friday evening.
Dino Toppmöller's men aim to return to winning ways before being dragged into a scrap for Champions League football after sitting comfortably in the top four for large parts of the campaign.
Frankfurt, however, have been sensational at home this season, winning 10, drawing four and suffering just the one defeat in 15 encounters at Deutsche Bank Park.
Team News
Frankfurt carry doubts regarding the availability of midfielder Ellyes Skhiri, whilst wideman Eric Ebime has also been ruled out.
Centre back Robin Koch will also miss out, which could see Toppmöller opt for a defence of Rasmus Kristensen, Tuta, Arthur Theare and Nathaniel Brown.
The Storks hosted fellow strugglers Bochum last time out with the pair playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw, seeing Kiel rise to just a point behind Heidenheim, who occupy the relegation playoff spot.
Marcel Rapp's side have lost two and drawn two of their four matches while winning just two of their last twelve Bundesliga fixtures.
And things don't get any easier this weekend as they travel down south to Frankfurt.
Kiel's singular away win this campaign came back before the Bundesliga season started, against Alemannia Aachen in the DFB-Pokal on the 17th of August. They have since failed to win all 11 matches on the road, with eight defeats accumulated on the way.
Team News
The visitors are left to cope without centre-backs Carl Johansson, Colin Kleine-Beckel and Patrick Erras.
Attackers Alexander Bernhardsson and Steven Skrzybski have also been ruled out.
